We said good bye to the family on the 16th and took an early morning taxi to the train station, where we took a10 hour train ride to Calicut passing some very cool scenery, quick overnight stay in a hotel, then another early morning to the bus station. We had a seven hour bus ride to Ooty, through beautiful tea plantations, eucalyptus and pine forests. It was a long bumpy ride and we all needed the bathroom desperately by the end of it! We met some really nice people on the bus though who gave us some useful tips about living in Ooty.
Greg and malas sweet driver picked us up after we had a very tasty pizza for lunch, and took us to our new home- the lovely Farley Guest House!
