Goa

We arrived in South Goa on the 5th Jan, where we met up with Chris and Esther, Zara and Richard. They had picked a beautiful beach to by with hardly any people and great food!
We stayed in Goa in a guesthouse untill the 16th, fitting in several market trips, an elephant ride, a visit to a pretty cool organic spice plantation (did you know cinnamon and bay leaves come from the same tree!), a trip to an old Portuguese fort and many trips to the beach where we dug endless paddling pools and sand castles!
We hired two scooters for the time there and had amazing fun on them, I rode once and didnt crash either.. well actually did almost once... into a bus, as I hadnt really learnt to turn a sharp corner yet!
Travis and Liz arrived on the 11th and spent there time with us on the beach and at the pool. A lot of fun and a great way to ease into India, and recover from travel and jetlag.

Some key phrases I think that sum up Goa andour time there:
Lots of flowers, strong Roman Catholic influence, Beach huts and deck chairs, Sand pools, warm fresh bread rolls, beautiful free pool at Palm Views, catching up with Chris and Esther living a bit of the good life for a while, women selling on the beach, scooters, fun with Richard eating and drooling and Zara chatting away, adorable puppies and lots and lots of chocolate and banana pancakes!!
